“Beyond Adoption, Companies Move Toward Internalization of AI”… Practical AI Training Spreads Across All Job Functions
Practical AI Training Expands Across All Job Functions; AI Becomes Top Priority for Corporate Training Investment This Year
As Artificial Intelligence (AI) has become a core competency determining productivity and competitiveness, companies are accelerating efforts to internalize AI utilization skills among their employees.
Public Institution H, following its AI Transformation (AX) initiative, implemented a step-by-step program ranging from basic AI literacy for all employees to generative AI training tailored to each job level.
Hands-on training for leaders and executives enhanced the organization’s readiness for AI transformation, while specialized programs were also offered for groups such as those under the wage peak system. The program was later expanded as part of social contribution efforts, providing AX training to university students.
Pharmaceutical Company D introduced industry-specific AI training to improve the efficiency of core R&D tasks, such as literature searches and data analysis for researchers. The curriculum focused on hands-on practice with specialized generative AI tools suited for research roles, and researchers created their own AI agents tailored to their fields and applied them in their work.
Public Institution B provided tiered AI training for over 200 non-IT employees to support AX transformation. After building digital fundamentals through online pre-learning, participants engaged in practical exercises such as prompt engineering, report automation, and developing department-specific AI chatbots, enabling even non-technical staff to naturally incorporate AI into their daily tasks.
S Distribution Group operated an ‘AI Expert Course’ tailored to each job function. Initially launched for four roles, including strategic planning and marketing, the program quickly expanded to all job categories—such as merchandising, design, and accounting—in response to employee demand. The curriculum combined hands-on automation training with innovation project tracks, evolving into a core talent development program.
This widespread adoption of AI training among companies is also reflected in corporate education market data.
According to Hunet, a corporate education specialist, requests for AI training and related sales more than doubled this year compared to last year. In a survey on ‘Corporate AI Utilization and Perception’ conducted by Hunet, AI was cited as the most invested training area by companies this year, and more than half of respondents said they plan to increase their AI training investment next year.
Demand for AI training is also evolving rapidly.
While basic inquiries such as ‘How to use ChatGPT’ dominated until last year, there has recently been a significant increase in requests for company-wide AI transformation, including customized training and advanced, hands-on courses tailored to specific job levels and functions.
A Hunet representative stated, “Companies are now less concerned about whether to adopt AI and more focused on how to apply it to actual work,” adding, “There will be growing demand for practical AI training that leads to measurable outcomes, as well as for the design of company-wide AI transformation programs.”
