When are mid-winter, spring breaks for Holland-area schools?

HOLLAND — With the holiday season in the rearview, local school districts are preparing to return from their longest break of the school year.

Each district in the area will return from winter break Monday, Jan. 6. With the two-week layoff coming to an end, here’s a round-up of remaining off-days for local districts, plus each district’s last day of the school year.

There are several holiday breaks and conference dates in the second semester. Some will be shared by all or most area districts:

  • Martin Luther King Jr. Day: Most area schools will be off Monday, Jan. 20, including Holland, Holland Christian, West Ottawa, Zeeland, Saugatuck, Eaglecrest, Vanderbilt and Calvary Schools of Holland. Hamilton, Black River and Fennville will have school.
  • Spring Break: All but one district will observe spring break April 4-11. Calvary Schools of Holland is the lone exception, with school in session Friday, April 4, and the rest of the days matching.
  • Memorial Day: All schools will be off Monday, May 26.
