Join our team as CAREGIVER/MED TECH (Night Shift) at The Woodlands of DeWitt, a premier senior living community in DeWitt, MI.

Caregiver/Med Tech position on average starts at $15.00/hour, with no experience, but we offer frequent reviews and are always willing to increase wages for team members who have great work ethic and show compassionate care to our residents!
An employee in this position supports the Director of Resident Care (DRC) and delivers resident care and medication pass to residents in a Home for Aged (HFA) Assisted Living and Memory Care environment. Med Tech is responsible for monitoring and implementing each resident’s individualized service care plan along with their medication administration needs. The Med Tech position works under the direction of the Director of Resident Care. This employee is a working care staff position and is responsible for his/her shift duties as well as specifically assigned duties as directed by the DRC.
· Ensure all resident care needs are performed as well as resident calls to be answered in a timely manner.
· Friendly, courteous manner; highly motivated, patient; excellent communication skills to direct resident care to range of residents with varying degrees of abilities.
· Knowledge of assisted living and memory care principles, techniques, methods and current trends/developments regarding resident care including knowledge of Resident’s Rights, federal/state licensing and regulations for Home for Aged community.
· Knowledge of computer PC operations and software e.g. Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook, etc.; good organizational and prioritization skills.
· Ability to be flexible, solve problems/conflicts effectively in a sensitive and calm manner, act independently and carry out oral and/or written instructions; ability to react quickly and decisively in the event of an emergency.
· Affinity for seniors and genuine care regarding their well-being with an ability to maintain appropriate attitude and conduct for the welfare of residents; compassionate; demonstrate an appreciation of the heritage, values, and wisdom of the resident and an understanding of their rights, the aging process and diseases of the elderly.
· Display honesty, integrity, dependability and ability to work as a team member, possess good leadership and interpersonal skills and maintain a positive attitude toward employment; able to communicate effectively and maintain confidentiality of resident and employee information in compliance with HIPPA regulations.
· Reliable transportation to work with flexibility to work on any day of the week, any designated shift.
· Ability to identify own personal strengths and weaknesses and discuss with supervision.
Requirements:
· CNA Certification or minimum 2 years experience in health related and/or elder care environment for a higher wage than $15.00/hr.
· Previous work experience as a Resident Care Assistant and Medication Passer
· Other management experience
Satisfactory references, background check, drug screen, pre-employment physical and current PPD(or chest x-ray) for tuberculosis.

Description:
The Lansing Board of Water & Light (BWL) has two openings for two (2) Traffic Signal and Lighting Specialists in Lansing, MI, as part of the International Brotherhood of Electrical Workers, AFL-CIO, Local Union 352.
Responsible for installation and maintenance of traffic signal controller devices, interface equipment and performing all functions pertaining to overhead and underground street lighting. Essential Functions:
· Installs and maintains electrical wiring, components and controls for traffic signal equipment.
· Works above street intersections as well as some underground handholes.
· Troubleshoots multi- function fixed, timed, and solid-state traffic control devices.
· Responsible for adjusting and properly timing traffic signals as necessary.
· Learns to use and operate all tools and equipment pertaining to overhead and underground streetlighting lines.
· Identifies and handles all materials and components associated with secondary overhead and underground street lighting lines.
· Learns to read and interpret various overhead and underground streetlight prints and drawings.
· Communicates with employees and other departments to assure proper understanding of job procedures, daily activities, and safety procedures, etc.
· Communicates with customers to promote a positive awareness of BWL responsibility.
· Drives and operates bucket and platform trucks.
· Must be willing and able to work standby rotation as required.
· Follows BWL safety manual and wears required personal protective equipment as required.
· Attends training for safety awareness and/or skills improvement as required by supervisor, BWL, or governmental agency such as MIOSHA.
· Performs other duties as necessitated by job responsibilities

Requirements:
· High school diploma or equivalent.
· Journey Traffic Signal Maintenance Specialist or State of Michigan licensed Electrician.
· Must possess International Municipal Signal Association (IMSA) levels 1 or 2 certification or obtain 13 months after accepting position.
· Valid driver’s license with an acceptable driving record.
· If an Internal applicant does not possess a valid Commercial Driver’s License (CDL) with Class A endorsement, they will be required to pass the Department of Transportation physical exam and State of MI written portion of CDL examination within 15 days of transfer and successfully pass the MI CDL skills/road test within 6 months of the date of internal transfer.
· Individuals will be subject to DOT requirements in accordance with the Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration (FMSCA), including random testing for controlled substances and alcohol.
· Must be able to pass medical requirements for asbestos abatement license.
· Must be respirator certified.
Preferred:
· Attendance in Traffic Control Equipment school, knowledge of service area, or three (3) years Traffic Signal Specialist field experience.
Physical Requirements / Working Conditions:
· Lifts controllers and equipment weighing up to 100 pounds.
· Good visual acuity required to identify wire coding and operate platform/bucket trucks.
· Must be able to work above street intersection from platform or bucket truck as well as in hand holes.
· Job functions require considerable standing as well as ability to stoop, bend, twist and climb.
